11:42 - 2006-09-21 The Four Seasons of Jewellery has come to a close, and it's time to review the Year:
When I was working on the Review page last week, I felt a surge of pride at having completed the year. Looking at all of the pieces, I'm really pleased with the body of work I've produced in the last year. With the exception of (I think) one week, all of my pieces were made on deadline. Posting didn't always happen on time, especially in this last season, when my energy level seemed to sag terribly. My little boys are getting much more active, and it's taking a lot out of me. However, being part of this project is forcing me to keep my hands on my pliers. I'm sure that if I wasn't part of the FSOJ, weeks would go by without me making anything. One of the interesting things I'm noticing looking at the pieces lined up next to each other is how the creative process meanders around from week to week, sometimes continuing without a break, sometimes taking a detour before returning to the path. Oh, aren't I being poetic... LOL In the next year, there will changes, detours, and unexpected lightbulb moments, no doubt. I'm planning to continue this journey because when I look back on the past two years, I know every effort and struggle to stay on track has been worth it :-) .
