*** The Year Of Jewellery 2004-2005 Review ***

Well, here they are, 51 of them (I ended up missing week 19). I'm having a hard time deciding on which "one" piece is my favourite - there are several I really like (marked in yellow).

Scrolling back to the Objectives... 1) I did actually create more than 52 pieces of jewellery during the year - some weeks I did two or three pieces.

2) I did do a lot of experimenting during the year - I'm actually really pleased with how many of my pieces were the result of "just playing around" with the wire - even if they didn't end up meeting my normal standard of quality.

3) Lots of inspiration from people on the Forum - and I'm pleased to have inspired others as well.

4) Staying focussed was a real challenge - for 6 months of the YOJ my DH was home from work - first for winter layoff, then waiting for his security clearance to come through at his new job. Getting pregnant really threw me for a loop. Up until then I really felt like I could get into a routine of working consistently on the bench every day. As the pregnancy wore on, alternating weekly OB and Diabetic Clinic visits really bit into the time I had available. Quite often I found that Wednesday came out of nowhere and I hadn't even started my piece. The results are obvious: much of what I submitted looks to me to be really simplistic. I am pleased that I managed to stay on theme for most of the weeks.

5) I haven't written instructions for any of the YOJ pieces, but I'll have a critical look at them and see if there are any candidates...

6) I did manage to enter two of the tree Calls for Entry.

7) Definitely played a lot this year, definitely relaxed a lot - and certainly had a lot of fun!
